Interviewer: Okay Dan, one of the things that you talked about in "No BS Wealth Attraction in the New Economy" is this idea of a wealth magnet. And I want you to talk about what they are and how that really shaped the structure and flow of the book.

Dan: Well, they're designed to give specificity to the ideas about how to retract wealth. So if you went and read all the books, all of the works, sort of in this category, 30 years worth of them. You will find most of them are fairly vague and ethereal, and leave you with a philosophical sense of what wealth is all about. But really know specific direction maybe of all of them, the closest to that would be Hill's "Think and Grow Rich." with 17 principles. But still, there are 17 principles, they're not really , okay, how do I apply these in a practical manner? You sort of got to build that bridge all on your own.

So the wealth magnets are designed to bring a very pragmatic tone to what is typically a philosophical conversation, right? And so they fall into three categories, some of the 28 that are about how we think. About money, about ourselves, about the world around us, about the difference in thinking between those who attract and have wealth and those who don't.

Another category is strategic, which really is now, how do we apply what makes money move from one person or one place to another. How do we get to practical application in our own businesses and in our own lives. And then the third category is behavioral, right? Not what do we think, but what do we do. And by the way, what we do is a lot more important actually than what we think. There are people who do the things that attract wealth, who actually are not attitudinally optimistic, necessarily they're not positive in the classic sense of positive thinking, and yet, wealth flows to them because of their behaviors.

And so wealth magnets provide specificity in these three categories and all three of these things are required like on a three-legged stool. If you have two and you don't have one, you might as well have none.
