1 Write quiality articles about your product or site add a link near the bottom of the page so your pontental customer does not leave the page to soon. submit to news and informational sites.

 

2 Submit your URL to as many free directories as you can, yet make sure they have a page ranking of 3 or better.

 

3 use free classified ads to list your products


this does two things, first it puts your products directly in front of the customer. Second it builds a one way link pointing to your site. all for free. (however watch out for scammers they often use classified ad's too! Dont do business through an e-mail almost always is a scam.)

 

4 do link exchanges with site's that are related to yours. ( i have camera stores so i try to link with photographers and photo related blogs.

 


5 hand out business cards to everyone. 250 FREE at www.vistaprint.com


(leave them at the restruant counter, give to your doctor your chiropractor your dry cleaners


you get the idea.

 


6 When you receive junk mail with a return envelope send your business card back to them the postage is already paid.

 


7 leave your business cards on car windsheilds


at the mall or at least every time you park your car leave them on the four surounding cars.

 


8 get a vinyl sign on the back windsheild of your car and every member of your family's and friends cars too!

 


9 make up a simple e-mail coupon for a free item with purchase of 25.00 dollars or more


(or 10 15 20 percent off) e- mail them to everyone in your address book once every month


any more than this and you might start losing friends.

 


10 for every bulk or junk e-mail you receive send the coupon back to them. (reply)

 


11 add them to your e address book e-mailing back to bulk and junk mail also builds you a e mail list of your own

 


12 send a coupon to your hosters support team tell them this is a thank you for their great support.. the heavier you lay on the great job their doing the more likely the managers are to forward it to the entire support team.

 


13 advertise in your local paper. Or some churches have a place to advertise at little or no cost if your a member.

 


14 on product retail sites try to get at least six images of the product above the fold. ( the fold is before the customer has to scroll down.)

 


15 offer something free

 


16 Buy a pre-inked, personalized stamp and put


your ad on it. Stamp the back of all your


envelopes that you mail out. it's suprising just how many people see it befoe it get to the person you mailed it to.

19 Personalized T-shirts give them out to repete customers.

21 Purchased leads

 

22 Word of mouth(friends and family) have your family and firends e-mail the coupon to all persons in their address books as well. ask nicely and they will.

 


23 Forwarded emails (Signature Line!) place a signature line at the bottom of your out going e-mails

 

24 hand out pen's with your site's URL

 

25 check out who your linking to if they have a really low or lower page rank than you think twice it may bring your site lower in rankings

 

26 check to see if they are in a bad neighbrohood http://www.bad-neighborhood.com


this will tell you if a site is in a bad neighbrohood or banned

 

27 http://www.sitereportcard.com and keep tweaking until you get 'perfect' on all checks.

 

28 Check your site at http://validator.w3.org and don't stop tweaking until your site validates. Flash insertion probably exempt(?).

 

29 Check your site on http://www.instantposition.com for the first 5 of your keywords.

 

30 Check your site on http://bobby.watchfire.com/bobby/html/en/index.jsp

 

31 blog on the highest page ranked blog spots that are related to the product or severice you sell or provide. (don't spam) don't add your URL just pick a user name that is your url or very very close to it) example URL www.SandalbyJill.com user name sandalsjill

32 Bring up the subject that you own a web site or store to everyone you meet. Most people are interested in online sales enough to ask you all about your business.

 

33 then give them the business card and ask for their e-address so you can mail them a coupon.


(this adds to your list to send to every month.

 

34 place ad in the local paper saying help build my web site. with the URL ask people to log on and leave sugestions on what they would like to see hear or buy on your site. have them leave their ideas on your guest book or contact us page. this is fun and you build a e-mail list so quickly it's unreal.

 

35 Verifiy each and every purchase with the contact phone number. This will give you a great reputation with your customers. Plus gives you the chance to talk to them over the phone live and in person. ( most people will order again after you have taken the time to talk to them.)so they see your business name everyday send a refridgerator magnet business card with every order.

A Mistake Is Not The End Of The World
